An oilfield located in the Algerian desert is known for its extreme operating environment: intense heat, strong sandstorms, and dramatic day-night temperature swings. Field equipment faces continuous high-pressure pulsation and strict explosion-proof requirements. The monitoring system must remain stable and reliable under such harsh conditions.

This case study presents the actual performance of our DMP305X Series Monocrystalline Silicon Pressure and Differential Pressure Transmitters (4–20mA + HART, ATEX Explosion-proof/Intrinsically Safe) used by the customer in this desert oilfield project.

Project Challenges
The local environment introduces several major difficulties:
1. Day-night temperature variation of 35–40°C, causing significant drift in conventional instruments
2. Strong sandstorms accelerating seal aging
3. Severe pressure pulsation requiring high shock-resistant sensing elements
4. Mandatory ATEX explosion-proof compliance for all field instruments
5. Distributed pipelines and tanks relying on SCADA remote monitoring, demanding stable signals
6. Limited maintenance resources, requiring instruments to operate long-term with minimal service

The customer prompting the need for a more reliable solution suited for desert conditions.

Customer System: On-site SCADA Monitoring Interface
The customer operates a Wellhead Injector SCADA platform, responsible for monitoring:
1. Tank levels
2. Pressures across the pipeline network (PT units)
3. Flow rates (FT units)
4. Filter performance and differential pressure
5. Injection system pressure, temperature, and flow
6. Real-time alarms (displayed in the red alarm zone)

In the SCADA interface, pipeline flow, equipment tags, units (bar, psi, m³/h), and process conditions update in real time-highlighting the customer's reliance on accurate, continuous data.

Our DMP305X Series transmitters are fully integrated with this SCADA system, providing stable signals to pressure points and differential pressure points.
This demonstrates the strong compatibility and long-term reliability of the DMP305X Series in real industrial applications.

1. DMP305X Pressure Transmitter (GP)

Application:
Wellhead pressure, metering lines, pump discharge, compressors, and injection pipelines.

Key Features:
1. Accuracy: ±0.075%FS / ±0.1%FS
2. Ultra-low temperature drift enabled by monocrystalline silicon sensor
3. Reinforced diaphragm provides strong resistance to frequent pressure surges
4. 4–20mA + HART, supporting SCADA remote reading, configuration, and diagnostics
5. ATEX Explosion-proof / Intrinsically Safe certification, suitable for hazardous zones
6. Sand-resistant and UV-resistant design for extended service life

Performance:
After installation, all pressure points remained stable with virtually no recalibration needed, providing clear and reliable data on the SCADA system.

2. DMP305X Differential Pressure Transmitter (DP)

Applications:
(1) Filter Differential Pressure Monitoring
Desert oilfields contain high sand content, making filters prone to blockage. Differential pressure is the most accurate indicator of filter condition.

Technical Advantages:
1. High accuracy: ±0.075%FS / ±0.1%FS
2. Withstands static pressure up to 40MPa, ideal for high-pressure oilfield DP measurement
3. Excellent temperature compensation ensuring stability despite large temperature swings
4. Anti-blockage pressure ports reduce sand-related measurement issues
5. HART communication enables real-time DP display in SCADA

Filter maintenance became significantly more precise, with cleaning frequency reduced by over 20%.

(2) Differential Pressure Level Measurement for Tanks
Tanks are located far from the central station, making SCADA-based remote monitoring essential.

Outstanding Performance:
1. Stable differential pressure level measurement under high heat and sand exposure
2. 40MPa static pressure capability ensures safety in high-pressure tank zones
3. ATEX certification guarantees compliance in hazardous storage areas
4. Seamlessly integrated with the customer's SCADA system, providing smooth level trends

More accurate level readings, safer tank operation, and faster alarm response.

Overall Project Results:

Since commissioning, the customer has reported:
1. More than 30% improvement in monitoring stability
2. Reliable signals even during extreme heat and sandstorms
3. Continuous, accurate, drift-free pressure and DP data in SCADA
4. Extended maintenance intervals; inspection frequency nearly cut in half
5. More scientific filter and tank management enabled by precise DP monitoring
6. Full compliance with ATEX explosion-proof requirements

Some customer's comments were straightforward:
